Unlike standard rigid solar modules, ETFE solar panels are designed for applications where weight, shape and environmental durability are critical.
 
They are widely used in outdoor electronics, marine equipment, IoT sensors and remote monitoring devices that require reliable power in harsh environments.
 

As you can see from below photo, there are not many layers of cell protection for the solar panel, the base one is the EVA, a very common material in the industry, which is used in solar cell encapsulation through a thermal lamination process of the cells to make them completely isolated from any contact with water, powder, dust.
